Along with working in a coffee shop I have also visited hundreds of them over the years and I can say without hesitation that Social House Coffee absolutely stands out. It's just a quick scooter ride from my boat, making it an easy destination whenever I need great coffee and an equally great atmosphere. The staff are the most welcoming, professional, customer-focused, and genuinely personable team I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am always glad I stopped in. The shop isn’t large but it is a warm and inviting with comfortable indoor seating as well as a pleasant outdoor shaded seating area in a great neighborhood on Herschel Street. Coffee nerds will appreciate the beautiful Victoria Arduino Black Eagle espresso machine, a fitting centerpiece for a café that clearly takes its craft seriously. I also appreciate that they still offer 2% milk as an option as many coffee shops have eliminated it in favor of only whole milk and alternative milks, so it's a welcome choice for those of us for whom whole milk is no longer an option. Most importantly, Social House Coffee is one of the few cafés I've visited that truly embodies the "third place" philosophy and is a place you want

Had an amazing experience at Social House Coffee! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the customer service was truly phenomenal with incredible attention to detail. Josh went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of and was attentive throughout our visit. The latte was absolutely delicious, and the pastries were phenomenal. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Jacksonville!

Found my new favorite cafe!! So welcoming and relaxing. Baristas were soo sooo kind and attentive. Great place to slow down with a drink outside or sit down and get some work done inside. Got a Matcha Latte, Avocado Toast and the Matilda Brownie (not pictured, I went straight to eating it lmao). Honestly the best Avocado Toast Ive ever had- so much flavor!! Small lot for parking right in front or plenty of street parking.

If you haven’t ever been to social house you’re missing out. What they do, they do very well. They got all the flavors, and they’ll make you a real nice latte or cold brew. The sandwiches? Delicious. The bacon on the BLT was thick cut and crispy. The service is honestly outstanding. The staff is friendly and they stayed attentive at all times, which i personally haven’t experienced at many cafes in town. And on top of all of that, it’s one of the few Black owned coffee joints in town? If yall are sick of waiting in the Starbucks line down the street there’s no reason you shouldn’t be paying Social House a visit. 10/10

I got a mocha latte with oat milk and their sunrise sandwich; both were excellent! The latte was not very sweet, the espresso left a pleasant aftertaste, and it was steamed well. Definitely one of my favorites, and I’m certain to be back. The sandwich was delicious too! It’s so adjustable, as you choose the bread, the sauce, and the cheese. Aside from all this, both people on shift were super sweet and excellent at service! I think this is important to keep a welcoming environment for a cafe, and you can feel that here. Will definitely be my new reading spot.
